Come and get your ticket! FBC corporate member KONE hosts their ‘yearly peek behind the curtains’ session. As the environment is changing, what’s our commitment for making cities better places to live?

During this year KONE has set science-based targets for significant reductions in our greenhouse gas emissions – and we have committed to carbon neutral operations by 2030. It will require a lot of effort in the way we operate, and we will be taking actions across the whole supply chain to create a more sustainable business. Like our CEO, Henrik Ehrnrooth has said, “Tackling climate change is the most important challenge of our time and we are doing this because it is the right thing to do. I believe that no business can succeed in the long term without a strong commitment to sustainability. It is also good business, as sustainable and climate-friendly business practices will create significant growth opportunities for us in the coming years.”

We have established active collaboration with the Singaporean authorities that lead initiatives for a smarter and more sustainable city and have connections to all the great innovators in the region. In fact, several of our new partners were found in collaboration with the local authorities. Axel Berkling, EVP for KONE Asia Pacific, said: “Singapore is one of the best places in the world for new digital innovations for sustainable smart cities, and not just for Singapore and Asia Pacific but also for global markets, and we want to ensure KONE has an active role in this vibrant ecosystem.”

We are also partnering with our Singapore-based customer CapitaLand, the largest real estate developer in South-East Asia, managing a building portfolio worth 140 Billion USD. KONE’s partnership with the Smart Urban Co Innovation Lab will help in driving smart building innovations in collaboration with various other tech partners. The Lab will focus on six key industry verticals of advanced manufacturing, digital wellness, intelligent estates, smart mobility, sustainability, and urban agriculture.“
