It seems few of us can escape working in some form of the team if we are to survive in modern organizations. Working in teams can often lead to better decisions than those by people working alone; of course, it may also be true that while stupid mistakes are made by individuals, truly colossal mistakes are only made by teams. In this talk, we will look at what makes for effective teamwork in high-pressure contexts, and in particular how to realize the great potential of diversity in such contexts.
Professor Henrik Bresman is an expert on leading high-performance teams. He is the co-author of the top-selling book X-Teams. His current teaching at INSEAD focuses on developing principled and effective leaders. His research on leadership and teams in contexts of technological innovation, international post-acquisition integration, and strategic change draws on data from industries such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, software development, and investment banking. His work has been profiled in many media outlets, including Time Magazine, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Forbes, and The Economist. See full bio.
